Not sure what Coaching Hours are? Think of them almost like office hours for your lifting. While we do call them “classes”, and it’s still a group training environment, they are not like traditional group fitness classes where a coach leads everyone through the workout together. Rather, you’ll be in charge of your own warm-up and you’ll work through the programming at your own pace while a coach is there to provide coaching and feedback.
The sport of weightlifting consists of two lifts: the snatch and the clean & jerk. In the snatch, the weightlifter lifts the barbell from the floor to overhead in a single movement. In the clean & jerk, the weightlifter lifts the barbell first from the floor to the shoulders (the clean) and then from the shoulders to overhead (the jerk). In a competition, each weightlifter has three attempts in the snatch and three attempts in the clean & jerk. The weight of the best of each lifts is added to create the weightlifter’s total, and the best total wins.
Powerlifting is a pure strength sport. Powerlifters perform three competitive lifts: the squat, the bench press, and the deadlift. A lifter receives three attempts for each event. Only the heaviest successful attempt is counted. At the end of the competition, the lifter’s best lift from each event is added together to make up the lifter’s total.
Nearly 24/7 open gym access with the HybridAF app. This non-coached option is included with most of our memberships, and is available as a standalone membership option as well.
For those that want to train like a DBC Black & Gold Athlete but don’t live close enough to train with us. Remote coaching includes customized programming to the athlete’s needs and goals, and weekly video reviews with feedback.
While Club programming is included with most membership options, individualized programming is available to any active members looking for a more custom programming experience. This option is an add-on to any membership fees.
If a group training environment isn’t really your thing, or you’re just looking for a set of eyes on your lifting in a 1-on-1 setting, we offer private technique sessions (Technique Tune-Ups) for both Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting. These are available for both members and non-members.
Prices start at $45 for a half-hour.
You can sign up via TrainHeroic to follow our programs online, including: Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and supplemental weightlifting (Power Hour).
The best cyclists in the world have discovered that strength is a major component of developing power and leg speed. We’ve proven that learning to use triple extension in order to aggressively apply power is a huge benefit when it comes time to put the power to the crank. Our programming has delivered massive gains in strength, speed and improvement of our cyclists’ performance on the track, the course and the road.
